SURPRISING INGENUITY
Austrian Design in Milan. 14-19 April 2010.
On an area of roughly 300 square metres Advantage Austria together with the Austrian Trade Commission in Milan is to showcase current and classic creations of Austrian product design.
Interventions of EOOS, Kabiljo, Haring & Berger and Walking Chair.
EOOS works with wedge-shaped mirror elements that project new space and unending corridors into the exhibition area. Walking Chair takes care of the visual communication of the exhibition; they present new creations of the "Animals Farm" series, coupled with some specially composed songs. To paraphrase Marie Antoinette, Kabiljo Inc. invites visitors to "Let Them Sit Cake!", a seating area designed specifically for the exhibition and made from cake flour and chocolate glaze. Choreographer Chris Haring and musician Andreas Berger from Liquid Loft bring Thonet chairs acoustically to life and turn the exhibition area into a soundscape. In the historical Fabrica laboratory Polka puts Austrian dining culture into the limelight, while Aldo Giannotti shows visitors the way to the exhibition with a light sculpture.
Also in the spotlight: Wiesner Hager's compod.
Going beyond all preconceptions about office work, the compod furniture series reflects our company's forwardthinking credo. We inspire new types of working: A work meeting on compod meet facing each other or working on compod create with the spontaneous change from laptop work to leaning back, or compod play that provides room for unconventional thinking. Together they stand for freedom, individuality, and creativity.
