TRY HARD 3.0
The hardest quality check of all time!
In round three, the bar stool fizz was tested in the ice channel track near Königssee. Rating: amazing!
We are relentless quality fanatics. This is the reason why laboratory stress tests usually performed by our branch of industry aren’t enough for us. So we continually expose our products to extreme situations (see youtube). In Try Hard 1.0 (2009) the office chair paro_plus was tested in the Skatepark, in Try Hard 2.0 (2010) the n.f.t. folding table tried its luck at water-skiing. The benchmark for the third edition of Try Hard was really high. But what happened topped everything that went before.
On 27 February 2012 the fizz by Wiesner-Hager started its wild ride down the ice channel near Königssee in the Berchtesgaden region and wrote history as the first bar stool in history to do it. It was a hazardous venture and needed a whole lot of courage.
How would the material react to the cold? To the physical forces of speed? The track was prepared with fresh water before the ride in order to reduce friction and to increase speed.
A bar stool has to pass muster where, normally, high-tech sport equipment competes to gain a thousandth of a second. The entire film and production crew stared mesmerised at the track and held their breath. Would it work?
Have a look for yourselves here on YouTube. But mind – don’t try this at home!
