New conference centre at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Brussels

The Radisson Blu Royal Hotel is a five-star luxury hotel in the heart of Brussels, just a few minutes on foot from the famous Grand Place and the city’s most popular cultural and historical attractions, restaurants and shopping areas. Among the distinctive features of the hotel are its art deco façade designed by famous Belgian architect Michel Jaspers and its magnificent glass cupola which floods the hotel restaurant atrium with light.
The hotel has 18 meeting rooms covering an area of 1,270 square metres which can easily accommodate up to 420 conference guests. Early this year the hotel’s meeting and event facilities were renovated and fitted out with the latest conference technology and furnishings.
The main aim of the renovation work was to configure the facilities in such a manner that they would continue to offer a stylish environment for conferences, meetings, galas and events for the next ten years. Special attention was paid to providing these meeting rooms with a particularly bright and friendly atmosphere despite the lack of a direct source of natural light. Furthermore, no walls could be moved in the course of the renovation work.
Laurent Heusdens (Director of Operations & Executive Assistant Manager of the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel) gives the following explanation of the decision in favour of Wiesner-Hager: “For us it was very important to find furniture which is flexible in use and can be arranged as fast as lightning depending on requirements, but at the same time meets our hotel’s demands for top design quality whilst being obtainable at economically reasonable conditions. These criteria are met by Wiesner-Hager’s flexible f.t.s. folding table system and nooi connecting chair. A particular plus, however, was nooi’s really simple linkage system. Seating can now be set up and dismantled far more quickly and simply. This saves time and conserves our staff ’s energy and nerves,” according to Heusdens.
